Simply the thing i remember most was the "text book exchange" between classes when periods end...

There is a common saying among Thomians and i believe Marians as well.

"You will always be a Thomian, or Marian, even if you were at the school for just one day."

With that spirit, the Alumni Thomian 94 are calling Thomians and Marians of all era, to join us for this exciting and prestigious event.

The Alumni Thomian 94, or Pertubuhan Alumni Thomian 94 is a registered social works oriented organisation setup with an objective to reunite all Class of Form Five 1994, those born in 1977 as well those who have attended the kindergarten, primary and secondary level of SRB & SMB St Thomas Kuching. Apart from that, the Alumni is embarking on promoting voluntary work for the benefit of the school and the community.

Apart from celebrating the Thomian and Marian 94 21st Anniversary, the Alumni Thomian 94 also hope the involvement of all Thomians and Marians for this event will ignite the spirit of the good old days, and use this opportunity to reconnect, reacquainted and of course, REUNITE with old friends.

Member of school alumni Remember Ex - Schoolmate

 In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, the Thomian 94 Alumni took the opportunity to remember their former colleagues during a recent “Majlis Sungkei bersama Thomian 94” held at the Garden Heritage Steamboat and BBQ.

For the event, they have invited families of the late Abdul Rani, Awang Hadibullah and Zainal Boestamam, of former Thomian 94 who have passed away

“With the month of Ramadan, we would like to take the opportunity to honour and remember them, and to let their family know, we are there for them,” Said Iskhander Mohammad, the Alumni Thomian 94 President.
Iskhander also presented souvenirs and donations collected from the alumni members to the respective representatives of the family of the late Abdul Rani and Awang Hadibullah, who was present during the event

“Despite being just registered, this Alumni still holds to the pledge made way back during our 21st Anniversary Reunion last year, that we will look out for our fallen comrades family and try to do something about it,” added Yulhardy Budiman, the Honorary Secretary of the Alumn
“We also would like to wished some of our friends and also former teachers, who we have found out, is unwell, a speedy recovery,” said Roy Galau, the Deputy President.

Both Iskhander and Roy also informed that the alumni will try to arrange a visit to the late Zainal’s family’s house during the Raya celebrations. Efforts are also made to trace their other former colleague’s family so that donations can be made to them as well.

24 April, Kuching: The Thomian 94 Alumni’s Family Fun Day is gathering pace with more Thomians and even Marians confirming their availability for the event. The two groups, comprises of former students of SMB ST. Thomas and SMB St. Mary’s Kuching, will come together with their families in a reunion that will surely bring back the good old days.

The Family Fun Day, which will be held this 10^th May, at the D’Cove Family Park, Pasir Panjang will include lots of fun activities at the beach as well as prizes and lucky draws.

“Thomians and Marians, have always been connected historically with each other through bond of friendship, and we are glad that they (Marians) have accepted our invitation,” Said Iskhander, the president during a simple ceremony where he handed out Thomian 94 Alumni’s Member Card to the exco members.

Meanwhile, Rashid Komel, a Thomian 94 alumni, lauded his friend’s effort in organizing the event and he hopes more friends will join in.

“I’ve registered myself to the alumni by becoming a member, and I hope more will do so,” Said Rashid.

“The Family Fun Day would be an excellent opportunity to meet up with old classmates and getting to know their families,” added Rashid who handed his membership application form to Iskhander during the ceremony.

“Few more days to go, and all Thomians and Marians can still participate in the fun,” said Mohd Nizal Sulaiman, the event co-ordinator.

CALLING ALL THOMIAN 94 FOR A FAMILY FUN DAY AT D’COVE

The Alumni Thomian 94 Organisation will be organizing a Family Fun Day for all its members to commemorate the successful registration of their alumni. This will be their first large gathering since the successful 20th Anniversary Reunion dinner which was held last year.

“Apart from that, we would like to take this opportunity to reach out to all Thomian who are in the Form 5 Class of year 1994 to register and get involve with the activities,” said Iskhander, the president.

“There are lots of activities line up for the Family Fun Day, games for all ages, lucky draw, and we welcome all Thomian of 94, and their families to get involve,” added Mohd Nizal Sulaiman, who is the Family Fun Day coordinator.

“During the last reunion dinner, we have made a promise, to keep in touch, to organize activities not just for the members, but the families as well, so that the bond of friendship will stay on for years to come,” said Andre Ong, the Public Relations officer for the alumni.

“This time around, we have also extended an invitation to ex-students of SMB St. Mary’s, Marian Class of 1994 to join us with their families in this event,” added Andre.

For those who are unable to make it to the event, the alumni is hoping they can get involve by making a sincere contribution of either food, hampers, money, or gifts for this event. The money can be bank-in to the alumni’s account at Bank Muamalat, account no 11010001982710 (Iskhander B Mohammad).

ALUMNI THOMIAN 94 ANJUR HARI KELUARGA DI D’COVE

Pertubuhan Alumni Thomian 94 akan menganjurkan Hari Keluarga bagi meraikan kejayaan pendaftaran penubuhannya baru-baru ini. Acara ini bakal menyaksikan perhimpunan ramai bekas pelajar SMB St. Thomas, kelas tingkatan 5 tahun 1994 sejak majlis makan malam ulangtahun ke-20 mereka tahun lepas.

“Selain meraikan pendaftaran pertubuhan, kami juga ingin mengambil kesempatan ini untuk mendaftar rakan-rakan Thomian 94 di samping mengeratkan silaturrahim sesama mereka.” Kata Iskhander Mohammad, pengerusi alumni.

“Kami telah rancangkan pelbagai aktiviti yang meliputi semua lapisan umur, seperti permainan, cabutan bertuah dan lain-lain lagi untuk acara kali ini. Maka, kehadiran serta penglibatan semua bersama keluarga masing-masing adalah amat dialu-alukan,” Kata Mohd Nizal Sulaiman, penyelaras aktiviti Hari Keluarga tersebut.

“Semasa majlis makan malam yang kami anjurkan tahun lepas, kami semua berjanji untuk meneruskan aktiviti-aktiviti yang menghimpunkan kami semua beserta keluarga, bagi memastikan ikatan yang terjalin semula terus kukuh,”Ujar Andre Ong, Pegawai Perhubungan Awam alumni.
“Yang menarik kali ini adalah, pihak kami telah menjemput rakan-rakan bekas SMB St. Mary’s, Marian 94 untuk turut sama memeriahkan aktiviti ini bersama keluarga mereka,” Tambah Andre lagi.
Bagi yang tidak dapat menghadirkan diri ke Hari Keluarga ini, pihak alumni berharap agar mereka tetap terlibat dengan menghulurkan sumbangan ikhlas sama ada dalam bentuk wang, hamper atau hadiah bagi menjayakan Hari Keluarga ini. "THOMIAN 94 ALUMNI" Boys Back To School @ SMK St. Thomas Kuching

07^th April 2015, Kuching, 10.30am The newly minted Thomian 94 Alumni Organisation  made a courtesy visit back to their alma mater, S.M.K St. Thomas Secondary and Primary School recently, with some of the Exco members.

The purpose of this visit was to get acquainted with the principal, the headmaster and some of the old and new teaching staff. The visit also bring back some memories of their school days.

During the visit, the alumni also met the principal of SMK St. Thomas, Mr. Wong Hiong Foo, who welcome the creation of the alumni and hoped the alumni can assist in the development of the academic and curriculum needs of the students. He also shares the school aspirations and hoped the alumni and the school work together in achieving it.

"I’m touched by efforts of any ex-students who wants to contribute back to their school, especially in the development of the current students,” said Wong.

“The visit to both schools really meant a lot for us, and it does brings back those good old days, and we hoped we can assist in any way we can for both schools,” said Iskhander, the president.

“We also hope that this visit will inspire all Thomian, from any era to come back and contribute,” added Andre Ong, the Public Relations Officer for the alumni. The principal also hope that all alumni, to share old pictures of the schools, activities of those days so it can be exhibit at the school hall as well as at the mini museum to be shown to the public. Also present during the visit were the alumni’s Honorary Secretary, Yulhardy Budiman dan exco for logistics, Samsuria Mayadi.

Simple ceremony of Launching "The Pertubuhan"

15 March, Kuching : It all started with a 20^th anniversary reunion dinner held December last year, by ex-student of SMB St Thomas, Form Five Class of 1994, when an idea was put forward to make the group a registered organisation. Now it has become a reality with the creation of Thomian 94 Alumni Organisation.

The Thomian 94 Alumni Organisation was established with the objective of reuniting all alumni of SMB St. Thomas’s Form Five Class of 1994, and those born in 1977 through a medium where all of them can interact, involved in various social and welfare activities which can benefit the school, the members as well as the community.

“With this, we hope we can boost up our efforts to get all alumni to register, thus enable us to concentrate our efforts to assist the school in any way we can through various activities,” Said Iskhander Mohammad, who is also the president.

 

“Getting ourselves registered, we hoped it will attract all alumni to register, and in turn, contribute either their time, energy, knowledge or even in the financial aspect which can benefit the members as well as the community,” he added during the launching of the organisation official logo at their office at MJC Batu Kawa.

The response has been quite lukewarm from the alumni and Andre Ong, who is the Public Relations Officer for the organization has pointed several factors which may contributed to it. “Geographical factor and time may have played its part, but we have lined up several activities we hoped will encourage them to register and contribute to the cause. In fact the office where we reside now was through the effort of our alumni, who also is the advisor, Malcolm Layang Jimbun.”

Next for the Thomian 94 Alumni will be to meet the SMK St Thomas school Management to discuss how we can assist the school as well as executing and participating in their activities which may have been lined up.
